He Will Not Be Missed

Two years ago today, May 2nd, Osama bin Laden was put out of his miserable existence in Abbottabad, his hiding place of choice in Pakistan. At least Hitler did us a favour of putting a bullet to his own head.

Whether you had to surrender your nifty Swiss knife because you forgot to pack it in your checked luggage, or dump the expensive aftershave or cologne because there was still 100 ml left in the bottle, we all have good reason to say good riddance to this poor excuse for a homo sapien.

Some characters are more difficult to get rid off. Like the Labour chief Lim Swee Say who said the national drive to raise productivity does not mean workers have to work harder and longer hours. He should know, he does not have a portfolio to be in charge of, yet he keeps collecting millions from the tax payers. And gloat about how his regular review of his CPF account balance make him feel rich, filthy rich.

When he talks about making jobs easier and smarter, he's not referring to your daily grind, always keeping an eye out for the foreigner who will take away your job at the slightest excuse in the name of globalisation. He's reminding you that with the abomination of the GRC chicanery and gerrymandering, it's easier and easier for him go with the flow and never worry about being voted out. Too bad he's not getting an iota smarter with each passing year. He still makes you want to reach for the mute button each time his mug pops up on the tv screen.

The clown who gave you the ridiculous "Cheaper, Better, Faster" (CBF) has come up with something more idiotic. His contribution on how Singapore should hit its productivity targets: "The first 'how' is to be CBF, the second 'how' is to make the job, make the life of the worker more ESS - easier, smarter and safer. In the context of Singapore, given our low unemployment, tight labour market, there's a third ‘how’. Beyond CBF, beyond ESS…that is to value every worker." Maybe he should start doing some real work, like fighting for the workers' minimum wage, before we put a value on his pathetic existence.

  1. Can the quality of a leeder be measured by the quality of his subordinates-ministers?

  2. he's a buffoon...no portfolio and still gets millions, uniquely Singapore. He's the labour chief, but not working for the well-being of workers and all he does is spout more nonsense. He should just shut up and that would the best for Singapore.

  3. This Zoero is perhaps what ESM Goh had in mind when he spoke about Singaporean meritocracy having negative connotations, as he is one big contribution to income inequality. He is paid to boost his dignity, not for the quality of the hot air issued from his mouth or the benefit of his work to workers' wellbeing.

  4. Those who have served NS would know what CBL means and that applies to the labour chief. CBL, CBF, whatever.

  6. Lim See Say actually has a job - his job is to toe the line for the labour unions to the tune of his PAP masters and effectively neutering the power of labour unions in Singapore.

This lapdog has done his duty admirably, don't you think so?

  7. This clown really makes a fool out of the Clown Prince as far as meritocracy is concerned. What has he exactly done for Singaporeans other than to exhort us to be CBF?

And for that to be paid in millions makes a mockery of the kind of rare talent that we are constantly reminded is hard to find! So is he not a fool to begin with?

  8. This crown is Ah Loong's cheer leader. That's his job but paid in millions.

  9. court jesters usually have life-long jobs; if the worse damage they can do is collect a few millions and fawn on the pinkie, that would still be better than those imbeciles who take themselves seriously messing up housing or healthcare policies and telling a million shameful lies everywhere they go, or better than those who think they are rubbing shoulders with high rollers when actually they are being conned by international con men (aka sado maso hitler worshipping F1 franchise owners), and the worst sinners = those throwing away taxpayers billions every year at unca sam's pockets buying expensive and broken toys which the pentagon is only too glad to throw away. And not forgetting those who cannot even budget properly organizing a young people's gathering called the yog. And still it wouldn't be so bad if they were not supported by a bunch of totally self-serving civil masters! But that would be rant for another day.

  11. Maybe after reading this, you will know what he's worth,

"If you think we're done with neoliberalism, think again

The global application of a fraudulent economic theory brought the west to its knees. Yet for those in power, it offers riches

How they must bleed for us. In 2012, the world's 100 richest people became $241
billion richer. They are now worth $1.9 trillion: just a little less than the
entire output of the United Kingdom.

This is not the result of chance. The rise in the fortunes of the super-rich is
the direct result of policies. Here are a few: the reduction of tax rates and
tax enforcement; governments' refusal to recoup a decent share of revenues from
minerals and land; the privatisation of public assets and the creation of a
toll-booth economy; wage liberalisation and the destruction of collective
    bargaining."

  16. Lim Swee Say existence is one of a very good examples of PAP utter failure in leadership. It will come to haunt them regularly with every new words they tried bloody hard to justify their pay.

Anyway, labour day has become a day every Singaporean will remember that tripartism in Singapore is like a useless 3-legged alien with an ugly head called PAP. Todate, no workers in Singapore has benefited from this alien existence, not that I can recall any from this overhyped pet of PAP.

  17. why do people allow MP like him to be elected? we elected him dont forget. so we deserve him. also this person is just one human being, so dont expect too much. The regime of PAP is the main problem, making everyone in their system ball-sucking idiots, clinging on just for money.
